A formula for nothing

I have just arrived at Center Parcs, ready for this weekends New Wine, Retreat to Advance conference. I absolutely love Center Parcs, I have so many fond memories here as a child on holiday with my family, such a beautiful place.

Having arrived, and waiting for my fellow villa mates whom I’ll be enjoying the weekend with I thought I’d grab myself a coffee in Starbucks, which by the way excited me greatly when I found out my favourite 2 places had been combined!

I love sitting in coffee shops on my own, sounds really sad! But I just love watching the world go by! There’s something quite peaceful about seeing the world while grasping a warm coffee mug! Especially today as it’s pretty miserable outside, so I am enjoying watching the shivering bypassers hugging their umbrellas. (this will soon evaporate when I become one of those, only without the Luxery of an umbrella!)

Anyway, its making me think. This world is amazing, I love how everything is so unique, how every day is completely different to the last. I love how there is not a formula for anything.

Sometimes I forget how amazing it is that actually every single person has been made in such a mind-blowingly unique way, how no child is the same as another, even those raised in the same family in the same surroundings.

I love how you can listen to a song, and one day it brings happiness and joy beyond belief, but the next day it makes you sad.

Or when you watch a film which brings inspiration and wonder, yet the person next to you is half asleep waiting for the dullness to end!!

Isn’t this a beautiful world? We never know what is going to happen next, we can plan and organise all we want, but we all know it’s probably not going to happen as we’d expected.

I do love this world, and more importantly, the one who formed it. Nice one mate, I think your on to a winner here! ;)

Brooke Fraser

Just been to see Brooke Fraser live in london, and I it was absolutely fab!

Great tunes, great band, and Brooke was surprisingly very funny! (not sure why I’m surprised!) but a great night. Drums were incredible, lots of sweet grooves and bass pumping through the room, and I love her songs!

If you haven’t heard her songs check out her new album ‘flags’ or her old album ‘albertine’ I would highly recommend both :)

The evening was topped off with me and Katie bumping into Mr Lekai Lee (who drummed so wonderfully at my EP launch) and Oli wainwright so all in all a good night :)

The EP launch

Many thanks to all those who came to the EP launch yesterday, myself and the band really enjoyed it :) I hope you did too if you were there!

The CD is now available, and will be up online from Monday at the Resound Media shop, see the ‘shop’ link from this website to be redirected straight there.

I will put up some photos of the launch as soon as i have some! And also, thanks to Nick Allott we have a sweet recording of most of the night, so look out for some free tracks soon!

Thanks for stopping by,
Blessings

Samaritans Purse Conference

So last weekend I lead worship at the national Samaritans Purse Conference, this year in Swannick. This is something I have been going along to ever since I can remember, due to my mum being more than a little bit involved with Samaritans Purse, who for those of you who don’t know, are the charity that head up ‘Operation Christmas Child’

This year saw the 20th anniversary of Operation Christmas Child, so as you can imagine there was lots of celebrating to be done. It is always really amazing to see people from so many different backgrounds, denominations, countries come together, because everyone is there for the same purpose, and you could barely tell that people there don’t all go to the same church. It just goes to prove that however ‘split’ Christianity is in this country, actually when it comes down to it, we’re not really split at all, because we all have the same, one goal.

I was lucky enough to have a wonderful band to play with for the weekend, below is a picture from the weeekend.

It was definitely one of the best bands I have ever played with, and was such a laugh to just hang out over the weekend. It was quite hard to believe we only all met on Friday!

So thats that, If anyone that reads this is around the Chesterfield area next Saturday 26th June, I am playing at All Saints Church, Wingerworth at 7:30, It would be great to see you there.
