New beginnings

So I know i’m not the only person to be sharing with the world my thoughts about New year! It seems that it is all I read at the moment on Twitter, Facebook, and the likes… (P.S has anyone tried this new one, Path? Looks like it could be ok, but at the moment I am my only friend on mine so its rubbish!!… Let me know if you get it, www.path.com)

Anyway, as I was saying… But I don’t think this is a bad thing. Even though the only thing that really happened on the 1st of January is our clocks went forward a day (Which coincidently will also happen at 12am tonight, and tomorrow!) Well, that and someone in Britain, probably me and every other tax payer decided not to spend extra money on anything useful, but instead blowing thousands, probably millions on throwing exploding lights off the London eye for 15 minutes. (Though this was quite spectacular).

But there is something special about this time of year, something that makes you want to start a fresh, to try something new. I don’t know about you, but I always find it a little easier to get up in the morning (Though not much!) I tidied my room, in fact I completely changed my room around and now am looking out the window at my desk and not at a wall which is nice, though I should open the blinds. Me and Katie have got back into swimming after an embarrassing december, I think we went about 3 times the whole month!

I’m not one for making big new years resolutions like ‘I will give up chocolate’ because in honesty, I like chocolate. But I do like looking at the year ahead and thinking ‘I wonder what will happen’. For me already I have an exciting month ahead… Next Wednesday 12th January, I am being interviewed on Cross Rhythms radio, this is my first ever radio interview! I am a little nervous to be honest, but very excited too. You can listen online at http://www.crossrhythms.co.uk/, I think its at about 8pm but i’ll confirm soon.

This weekend I’m off to a New Wine Leaders retreat conference, at Center Parcs which I’m very much looking forward to. It will be nice to just relax, and focus on God for a weekend… And enjoy Center Parcs! And in February my EP will be available on iTunes, which I am looking forward to.

Some of my friends are also trying new things this year, I thought I would share a couple with you (And there is one more on the way when he makes his new blog ‘Public’!)

Eleanor, who is my girlfriend Katie’s sister, is off to Australia tomorrow, which in itself is pretty immense! But the best part is she’s going for 7 months, doing a YWAM course. She has just started a new blog which she will be updating so check that out…http://elsinaus.blogspot.com/

And Matt, who is also my boss, has just started a new blog which I’m sure will be a good read… http://therectorsblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/happy-new-year.html?spref=fb

So yeh, I will be in touch soon. In the meantime don’t forget to sign up to my mailing list!

Christmas Presents

After a few hours walking round town like a headless chicken, I can conclude that I am awful at buying Christmas Presents!

I dunno what it’s like for you! But I just never know what to get people!! Is it too much? Too small? Do they already have it? But would they really want that? Will they see the funny side? Will they actually use it after december the 28th?

I tell you… I should have started earlier, but I think I say that every year! The only Christmas present I have bought so far is a fake hamster that runs round in a ball for my cat! (no seriously, I’m not joking.)

P.s There is one more thing you could get people! Just scroll to the top of this page, click ‘Shop’ and as if by magic, all your worries gone!!!

Snow

I hope you have been enjoying this snowy weather? I love it! Its so nice to look out and everything just be covered in fluffy white snow. I love walking home at night also when the snow lights up the streets reflecting the light, so beautiful. And so peaceful also.
I wish it were here more often. And I wish I had some skiis! Here are some photos I took…

Brooke Fraser

Just been to see Brooke Fraser live in london, and I it was absolutely fab!

Great tunes, great band, and Brooke was surprisingly very funny! (not sure why I’m surprised!) but a great night. Drums were incredible, lots of sweet grooves and bass pumping through the room, and I love her songs!

If you haven’t heard her songs check out her new album ‘flags’ or her old album ‘albertine’ I would highly recommend both :)

The evening was topped off with me and Katie bumping into Mr Lekai Lee (who drummed so wonderfully at my EP launch) and Oli wainwright so all in all a good night :)

The EP launch

Many thanks to all those who came to the EP launch yesterday, myself and the band really enjoyed it :) I hope you did too if you were there!

The CD is now available, and will be up online from Monday at the Resound Media shop, see the ‘shop’ link from this website to be redirected straight there.

I will put up some photos of the launch as soon as i have some! And also, thanks to Nick Allott we have a sweet recording of most of the night, so look out for some free tracks soon!

Thanks for stopping by,
Blessings
