Turn On The Tap

Greetings,

So I thought it was about time that I uploaded something on here, as this website has been rather reminiscent of a ghost town as of late. Sincere apologies there.

One thing that has been really on my heart lately is a project called Turn On The Tap. This is a great project run by the guys at Samaritans Purse, who you may be aware of from other projects such as Operation Christmas Child, the shoebox appeal.

Turn on the Tap aims to provide clean, safe water to families in parts of the world where this is not the case. Some families walk miles each day to collect water, yet the only water they can collect is not clean, not safe and certainly not acceptable.

About £10 will give one person clean, safe water for life.

In the last couple of weeks I have moved into a new flat, moving out of my family home where I moved back to live for the past nearly 2 years. It has made me realise just how much things cost in life! And I have cut down on many things that I don’t need. It has made me a little sick really when I think about the money I used to waste on a lot of stuff.

Look familiar? 14 cups in this photo, say £3 a cup, often it’s more… £42, you could have pretty much saved a families life. Say I buy 3 coffees a week? That is one child every single week that I could have given clean water to, for life.

So what are we going to do about it? One thing I am doing is donating money from all of my CDs to Turn on the Tap. if you head over to My Online Shop I have reduced my EP to just £4, and 50p of every CD sold there will go straight to Turn On The Tap.

This is not all, I will be back to share more with how you can get involved.

Download Chords

I have just added a new section to the website, where you can listen to some of the tracks from my EP on this website, and download Chords if you so wish.

Over the coming weeks I will upload Chords for more songs, for now you can check out the chords for ‘He’s Alive’ – If you are looking for a song for Easter…

Let me know if you find this helpful and which songs you would like me to post chords for…

I am also planning to upload some live Youtube videos of some of these songs, which I will also post on the ‘Music’ page… Enjoy!

Friends Blogs

I would like to introduce you to 2 more of my friends blogs.

The first of these belongs to a Mr Laurie Woodgate. Who is one of the ‘Youth’ at my Church, as well as being a fantastic singer in the Youth Band. You can find his blog here where he writes honestly and openly, in a very inspiring way about his life, faith, and other things. A great read, and don’t miss out on ‘The Banter Blog’ page!! Laurie Woodgate, ‘The Think Blog’

And the 2nd is a friend from Church, Helen Murray, who is working twice as hard as anyone else and bringing us 2 wonderful blogs! The first of which, is a really great read of Helens prayers which she has humbly made public for us to join in with, be inspired, and motivated by. Helen has a really fresh way of praying, which moves away from all cliches and religious phrases which can, if we’re honest often make us lose interest in praying! Helen Murray, ‘Are we nearly there yet’

And the last one of today is Helen Murrays personal blog of great thoughts from a wonderful woman of God, Wife to Bryan, and Mother of 2.

I hope you find these blogs as helpful as I do.

iTunes

So exciting news, my EP is now available on iTunes. You can buy all 6 tracks for a great price of £4.74 with individual tracks weighing in at 79p each. Bargain!

Enjoy, please feel free to pass this on, ‘Ping’ it on iTunes, and rate it if you have the time! Your support is greatly appreciated.

Gaz

A formula for nothing

I have just arrived at Center Parcs, ready for this weekends New Wine, Retreat to Advance conference. I absolutely love Center Parcs, I have so many fond memories here as a child on holiday with my family, such a beautiful place.

Having arrived, and waiting for my fellow villa mates whom I’ll be enjoying the weekend with I thought I’d grab myself a coffee in Starbucks, which by the way excited me greatly when I found out my favourite 2 places had been combined!

I love sitting in coffee shops on my own, sounds really sad! But I just love watching the world go by! There’s something quite peaceful about seeing the world while grasping a warm coffee mug! Especially today as it’s pretty miserable outside, so I am enjoying watching the shivering bypassers hugging their umbrellas. (this will soon evaporate when I become one of those, only without the Luxery of an umbrella!)

Anyway, its making me think. This world is amazing, I love how everything is so unique, how every day is completely different to the last. I love how there is not a formula for anything.

Sometimes I forget how amazing it is that actually every single person has been made in such a mind-blowingly unique way, how no child is the same as another, even those raised in the same family in the same surroundings.

I love how you can listen to a song, and one day it brings happiness and joy beyond belief, but the next day it makes you sad.

Or when you watch a film which brings inspiration and wonder, yet the person next to you is half asleep waiting for the dullness to end!!

Isn’t this a beautiful world? We never know what is going to happen next, we can plan and organise all we want, but we all know it’s probably not going to happen as we’d expected.

I do love this world, and more importantly, the one who formed it. Nice one mate, I think your on to a winner here! ;)
