Samaritans Purse Conference

So last weekend I lead worship at the national Samaritans Purse Conference, this year in Swannick. This is something I have been going along to ever since I can remember, due to my mum being more than a little bit involved with Samaritans Purse, who for those of you who don’t know, are the charity that head up ‘Operation Christmas Child’

This year saw the 20th anniversary of Operation Christmas Child, so as you can imagine there was lots of celebrating to be done. It is always really amazing to see people from so many different backgrounds, denominations, countries come together, because everyone is there for the same purpose, and you could barely tell that people there don’t all go to the same church. It just goes to prove that however ‘split’ Christianity is in this country, actually when it comes down to it, we’re not really split at all, because we all have the same, one goal.

I was lucky enough to have a wonderful band to play with for the weekend, below is a picture from the weeekend.

It was definitely one of the best bands I have ever played with, and was such a laugh to just hang out over the weekend. It was quite hard to believe we only all met on Friday!

So thats that, If anyone that reads this is around the Chesterfield area next Saturday 26th June, I am playing at All Saints Church, Wingerworth at 7:30, It would be great to see you there.
