I lead worship at Risky Living last night, (the weekly student event) Which was so good. I co-lead with Rich, so i was gonna do all the set before the talk, and then Rich was going to do it after because the talk was about living a spirit filled life, so after they went into a kind of healing time where people just handed everything over to God, and the response after the talk was amazing, so many people went up for prayer and stuff it was amazing.
So anyway, Rich and the band got up to lead the response time after, he started with Everyone needs compassion, a short way into it, i notice he’s fiddling around with his guitar a bit, and then drops out, leaving just the drums with a chilled back beat and Rich singing! I thought that’s a bit weird! Rich then looks over to me stood off the stage and just points at my guitar! So i had to go and join him and strum along, it turns out his guitar had gone really badly out of tune!! So i then had to play along (and work out) the chords as i hadn’t played it for quite a while, as about 150 students hear every mistake! haha! but it was all fine Rich then got me to lead a few more songs as we went on, so it was really good.
So yeh, was a really encouraging night, everyone in the room seemed to just be really up for worshiping and going that extra step into Gods presence, so it was really cool to be a part of it.
